I should start blogging again || phpphant a new beginning.

It's my birthday today. I'm 26 years old.

Birthdays make you think about your life, and what sorts of progress you have made, and where you plan on going, and blah blah blah... Adult stuff. Looking back tonight I realize that I'm pretty happy where I am at right now. Sure I'm no millionaire, I'm not taking baths in Cristal and swimming in money like Scrooge McDuck, but I like my work and my side projects.

I recently have stopped working on lots of projects. There were just too many of them. Implementing shotgun approach business plans was just too much, especially working full time. Now that I have thinned out the projects though I have some time to reflect and start posting again. I want to get lamdaphant back up, and I want to start blogging and coding.

I guess the first of these little coding projects is already to a point where I want to leave it. The 2nd is just getting started.

I present Phpphant. I guess I would label it as a silly brain dump of things I learned from The Little Schemer.

What's going on?

I have a blog that I have stopped posting at for the time being. There are a couple different reasons for this.

1. I'm still having problems with wordpress eating > 100% of my CPU on my macbook while editing. I've tried various workarounds, such as disabling tinymce, but I really just want to post and not have to debug my blogging software all the time. For Hautlinks I have just been using Tumblr, but might switch to posterous. This personal posterous is kinda a test run for other things.

2. I've been working like crazy to get the new improved version of Hautlinks up. I've also been playing admin for Floopty. Managing the EC2 instances, mail, and DB. We have been trying to get a alpha version of Sprekin out as well. All this means I've been doing a lot of coding, admin work, and overall bug/security hole fixing. On top of completely rewriting Hautlinks I also have a huge redesign that actually looks pretty decent.

3. The sickness has taken over my body. I don't get sick very much, but this last week I have been pretty much out of commission. I even went home early from my day job, AND I WASN'T EVEN FAKING. I really did go home and lay on the couch and watch tv all day. I had absolutely no energy to do anything.

There are a lot of other reasons I have abandoned Lambdaphant. Laziness being a big one. I mean if I really wanted to I could pick some other blogging software. But that would involve moving all my old posts over to it. I guess I could just rip them out and email them to my posterous account. That might work. Or maybe posterous has some nice wordpress migration tool that they would let me use. How about it posterous team?

SPANISH BOMBS!

I'm testing out this posterous nonsense. Maybe it is worth switching to.
